Looking to debate? We are the place to be! The new year is coming up fast, and we are preparing to give you a great welcome experience at the start of the year. The following events are upcoming:
Monday, September 6 - 18:30 - 22:30
Open House! Come to T3-16 and meet EDS. Aspiring members or people who are generally interested in debating can experience what debating at EDS looks like. Also, there will be a show debate with some of the best debaters we have to offer. Access is free, no strings attached.
Monday, September 13, 20 and 27 - 19:00 - 21:00
The famous EDS workshop cycle! 3 nights of free workshops by some of the best trainers in the Netherlands. Learn presentation, argumentation and debating skills that will help you to be a better public speaker. Incidently, learn how nice EDS people are and what a great time you can have as a member. We are the oldest debating society in the Netherlands and, if you fancy, consistently have been amongst Europe's finest. The Erasmus Debating Society is the best place for all people to learn how to speak confidently, give thorough analyses on all subjects and most of all: how to have fun while debating!
We pride ourselves on being a big family for all those who share our passion for speeching, and on being the best thing that ever happened to those people who at first did not yet feel they are confident speakers.

NewsEUDC EDS performed outstandingly during the European Universities Debating Championship 2010, held in July in Amsterdam. Jeroen Heun and Daniël Springer broke as the first ESL team and 7th team overall to both the main- and ESL quarterfinals. Unfortunately, they missed out on the final title, but Jeroen made up for this by winning the best speaker price in the ESL category! Tournaments Many tournaments are coming up in the new academic year; check the agenda and e-mail the board to register!
